Count and Countess are very continental titles - most used in Italy, and, course, the home of probably the most famous Count of all... the Baltic, in particular Romania.
This should not deter anyone outside these places puchasing these titles. Many, many of my clients from the US and UK have used the titles of Count and Countess to great success.
They are a flamboyant title when compared to some of the others we offer, but is frequently used by old and young.
The female equivalent is Countess. Perhaps the famous of all is Countess Elizabeth Bathory, who lived in what is now the Slovak Republic, in the sixthteenth century. And who could forget, Countess Rossillion in Shakespeare's All's Well That End's Well.
